Get★A★Way Tour
Saddle up and see the Gateway To Texas up close from the seat of your bicycle. The Historic Red River County Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the 7th annual Get★A★Way Tour, a premier multi-day tour. Experience the Southern hospitality and charm of a small town in the great Lone Star State by joining cycling enthusiasts from across the country.

Get★A★Way Tour FEES and Registration
This year the ride takes place June 6 to June 10, 2012
February 1st through April 30th – Early Registration – $225.00
May 1st through May 15th – Registration – $250.00
May 16th – June 10th – On Site Registration – $275.00 (no guarantee of T-shirt or packet)

The entry fee includes overnight camping, a meal plan, SAG support, route maps, bicycle mechanic, first aid support and a great rider packet. A $50 processing fee will be charged for all refunds, with no refunds after May 15th. No exceptions. If you must cancel after May 15th, you may substitute another rider.
Get★A★Way Tour MEALS
A meal plan of 4 full breakfasts and 3 dinners is included in the registration fee. The meal plan is also available to non-riders at an additional charge per person. The menus will be planned by the Get★A★Way Tour Board to insure that your nutritional and caloric needs are met. Sign up for meat or meatless meal options on the application. Lunches will be your responsibility.
Get★A★Way Tour RESTSTOPS
Convenience stores or Get★A★Way Tour rest stops will be located every 15 -20 miles along the route. The Get★A★Way Tour will set up free rest stops only when there are no convenience stores available to serve you.
Get★A★Way Tour DATES
The 6th Get★A★Way Tour will take place out of Clarksville , Texas . Check in will be at Clarksville High School where you may camp indoors or outdoors during the tour. Vehicle parking will be available at the school parking lots. The Get★A★Way Tour will take place rain or shine.
Get★A★Way Tour LODGING
An air-conditioned school facility as well as outdoor camping will be available. The school will provide showers and rest room facilities.
A motel, Red River Inn – 903-427-2278 and Bed and Breakfast, Courthouse Inn – 903-427-0801/ cell 903-517-6033 are available in Clarksville , but we encourage you to camp with us and enjoy the camaraderie of the ride. If you choose to stay at the motel or Bed and Breakfast, you must make your own arrangements and provide your own transportation.
Get★A★Way Tour TRAINING
The Get★A★Way Tour Board will provide the safest scenic routes possible, comfortable overnight accommodations and great camaraderie. To fully enjoy the ride you need to prepare yourself for four consecutive days of riding. Plan on June temperatures to reach the 90′s in the afternoon and drop to the high 70′s overnight. Rain is a possibility, so be prepared. Also prepare your bicycle for the tour. Tune it up prior to the event and carry the necessary equipment for minor roadside repairs.
Get★A★Way Tour MINORS
Children under 18 years of age are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or other adult. This is a ride for responsible cyclists to enjoy the sport of cycling.
Get★A★Way Tour CYCLE MECHANIC

Get★A★Way Tour ROUTES
Each day’s ride will include options for routes of 25-80 miles long. The terrain is flat to rolling throughout the Tour. The routes are planned along scenic, low traffic, back roads for your enjoyment. Detailed maps for each day’s route will be provided in the rider packet.
Get★A★Way Tour CONCERT
Saturday night, June 9, 2012 at 7:00pm on the Historic Clarksville Square, a special concert for your entertainment. Come see The Burning Memories Band. Classic Country and dance! Check out Music On Main for more details.
