ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE
December 5th, 2016
The annual Clarksville Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Clarksville Retail Merchants Association, will be held on December 5th, 2016. There will be no theme for this year’s parade. Entrants are reminded that float entries should have a Christmas theme, but not have a live Santa Claus on the float.
The parade will assemble on North Industrial Boulevard and proceed down Industrial to Main. Floats are asked to be assembled and be in place at 4:15 p.m. The Clarksville High School Band will join the parade at Donoho and lead the parade from Donoho down Main Street to the downtown square. The parade will begin from Industrial Boulevard at 5:15 p.m. with an expected arrival on the downtown square at 5:30 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third places. A prize will also be awarded in the decorated vehicle division. All vehicle entries must be decorated with a holiday theme. No four-wheelers may be entered in the parade this year.
The parade will culminate with the arrival of Santa Claus in the traditional fashion on the Clarksville Fire Truck, which will be followed by his visit with youngsters on the Monument Plaza on the Square. The Clarksville High School Band will play on the square after the parade.
Following the Parade, a Chili Supper will be held in the Christian Education Building of the First Presbyterian Church sponsored by the Historic Red River County Chamber of Commerce. For more information, please contact the Historic Red River County Chamber of Commerce at 903/427-2645.
